Farewell Patches

My friend's beloved dog passed away this week. Patches lived a full life. He was a shelter dog who took everyone he met by storm. This includes his girlfriend's owner (yes, every now and then he would somehow climb a six foot high fence and wander to his girlfriend's home for a visit). How do you get upset with a dog who fetches anything you throw and keeps your child from running into the street to get a ball when a car is coming. Patches was a beloved family pet and a hero.

This booklist is in honor of great pets everywhere.
