Whatever the case, you are now itching to try your hand at Julia Child's famously French cooking. Fearless Fourteen

Even if you don't read romance fiction, you know that it follows a formula. Janet Evanovich got her start as a romance writer before becoming well-known for her Stephanie Plum character. She obviously found the formula for success with this series: one part quirky characters, one part improbable situations, two parts humor. While the latest, Fearless Fourteen, isn't quite as over the top as some of the others (and by this I mean Grandma Mazur didn't have an incident at the funeral home, Stephanie's life was never really threatened, and Ranger only made a cameo appearance), it is still entertaining. Here's to hoping that Janet can keep her formula working!

Memoirs

Despite reports that the stories are sometimes embellished, shall we say, memoirs continue to be hugely popular. Often the bestselling memoirs were not written by celebrities, but by everyday folk. Is it because we're a voyeuristic society or because we're looking for something more personal? I tend to lean toward the later. Whatever the appeal, here are some great memoirs to try:

Summer Time & the Livin's Easy?

Summer is often the time for high drama, at least in the minds of fiction writers. Personally, I've never spent my summer plotting against tourists, investigating the death of a family member, or caring for an ecentric elderly woman at an upscale resort. If, like me, your summer plans consist of mowing the grass and watching TV shows you missed last fall, consider picking up one of these books to add some excitement.
